Skin Conditions

Our epidermis, or, skin is the body’s largest organ. Skin covers and protects us as a waterproof, insulating shield, defending our body against excessive temperature, damaging sunlight, and harmful chemicals. Additionally, skin exudes antibacterial substances that prevent infection and manufactures vitamin D for converting calcium in our bones. Our skin acts as a huge sensor filled with nerves for keeping our brain in touch with the outside world. In response to allergies, irritants, and external pathogens our skins appearance can exhibit redness, swelling, burning, rashes, hives, and itching.

Skin conditions can appear suddenly, or develop over time and become chronic. Since the skin is a detox pathway, skin conditions are often a sign that there is internal toxicity that needs to be dealt with, but these conditions can also arise from hormone imbalances or vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Conditions can include acne, eczema, atopic dermatitis, rosacea, vitiligo, psoriasis, rashes, boils, hives, and raised bumps and more.

At Ananta Health a patient is assessed with the BioMeridian to determine the root cause of the skin condition. There can be many factors at play, including food and environmental allergies, candida, parasites, heavy metals, mold toxicity, and Lyme Disease. It is important to determine what is occurring for each patient, and then addressing the issue (or multiple issues) to clear up the condition of concern.

Scars

A scar is the body’s natural response to healing by replacing lost or damaged skin. Scarring is essentially a malformation in normal cellular skin repair comprised of collagen, blood vessels, and sometimes foreign objects or toxins. Scar formation occurs for different reasons, including an outcome of infections, surgery, injuries, or inflammation of tissue. Scars can appear anywhere on the internal and external body. The structures of a scar varies depending on how the skin or tissue was damaged, how well the body heals, blood flow, skin type, personal and family history of scarring, the direction of the wound, location of the scar, and how old the scar is.

Many scars are only superficial, or have healed well, while others may cause a physical or energetic disturbance by the trauma induced to the tissues. Scar tissues can block flow to the area generating numbness, tingling, itchiness, sensations of heat or cold, achiness, and tendon/muscle restriction. An energetic disturbance may be caused by mental or emotional distress associated with the initial injury. At Ananta Health for the treatment of scars a patient is assessed with Autonomic Response Testing (ART) to determine if any scars are blocked physically or energetically. This is followed by addressing the issue (or multiple issues) to decrease physical or energetic traumas caused by scar tissue.
