Distant & Remote Treatment

What is Distant & Remote Treatment?

Our approach to treating Lyme Disease is unique to our clinic; to begin, we do testing in-clinic with the BioScan SRT to determine if Lyme Disease or any of its co-infections are present and offer distant & remote treatment options as well. The results from this testing come back almost immediately, and dictate whether Dr. Risk will require further testing with IGeneX in California to confirm. She’ll also work closely with you to understand your medical history, primary causes for concern and symptoms you’ve been struggling with. This information alongside the results from the BioScan SRT provide a well-rounded overview of what your body needs the most support and help with, which is how treatment steps are determined. This process has proven to be the most effective way for Dr. Risk to tailor treatment to the specific needs of each patient and achieve the best possible outcome.

Treatment plans typically consist of a combination of the following: anti-microbial herbssupplementsTraditional Chinese Medicine, adjustments to diet and lifestyle, as well as potential referrals to specialists to gather further information.

Who Should Consider Distant Treatment for Lyme Disease?

Distant & remote treatment for Lyme Disease is a great option for individuals who live outside of Calgary, or for those unable to travel for an in-person consultation. This could include people who have mobility issues, are bedridden, or unable to leave their homes due to the severity of their illness. Dr. Risk has treated thousands of patients suffering from Lyme Disease since 2006, and out of those, approximately half have been treated through the distant/remote program. Our patient base isn’t strictly Canadian either – Dr. Risk has successfully treated many patients from the USA, South America, South Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

How does the Process of Distant Treatment for Lyme Disease Work at Ananta Health?

Our distant and remote treatment program is a personalized program, tailored to the specific needs of each patient. The process begins with an initial consultation, which is divided into two appointments done via phone call.

The first phone appointment consists of reviewing completed intake forms, an assessment of the patient’s symptoms, medical history, and any previous testing or complications.

After the first appointment has concluded, Dr. Risk runs the BioScan SRT testing on a sample of the patient’s hair. This testing screens for any sensitives (foods, materials, chemicals, etc.), causes (Lyme Disease and/or its co-infections, parasites, gut infections, heavy metal toxicitymold exposure, etc.), and inflammation among many other potential irritants. The results from this screening helps Dr. Risk formulate the patient’s personalized treatment plan.

The second appointment requires access to the Internet and a computer or tablet with the ability to open and view PDFs. Our clinic is currently using a booking software called JaneApp, which allows patients to access any and all files or documents uploaded by the clinic. This is where Dr. Risk shares the results from the BioScan SRT test that was performed on the hair sample, as well as where she makes your treatment plan and any other resources available for easy access. During this second phone appointment, Dr. Risk makes everything available to the patient so they can follow along with her as she shares the findings of the BioScan SRT and their personalized treatment plan.

Once the appointment with Dr. Risk has concluded, her team of administrative staff will walk patients through the process of gathering everything they need to begin treatment. Most recommendations in the treatment plans are available to be mailed and shipped directly from Ananta Health unless otherwise stated.

How do Follow-Up appointments Work?

Follow-up visits for patients are recommended every six weeks, as that is usually the standard amount of time it takes for any changes to be noticeable once starting treatment. For follow-up visits, distant/remote patients have two options:

  1. Patients may schedule a follow-up BioScan SRT appointment, in which they are to provide a new sample of hair to be scanned and the results will be shared in a 15-minute or 30-minute phone appointment (the amount of time to be determined by the patient or Dr. Risk).
  2. Patients may schedule a follow-up appointment without a BioScan SRT assessment, in which they will speak to Dr. Risk by phone to update her on any changes in their health status and progress in treatment. These appointments are charged by-the-minute and can be booked in 15-minute or 30-minute sessions. Patients should note that they are charged once the appointment has ended, and only for the amount of minutes they are actually on the phone with Dr. Risk, which are tracked by her while she speaks with them.

Dr. Risk will take note of all the changes and adjust the treatment plan if needed. The goal is to help the patient reach optimal wellness in the shortest amount of time possible.

How can I get Access to Supplements if I don’t Live in Calgary?
