Ananta Health Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy – Ananta Health and its associated health professionals collect personal and medical information in compliance with the Health Disciplines Act. In addition, the clinic and its associated health professionals will only communicate with a patient’s family doctor and/or referring doctor as deemed necessary for beneficial treatment. Sharing personal and medical information is confidential and will only be disclosed to third parties with written permission of the patient.

1. What information do we collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

In short: we collect personal information you provide us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you fill out our intake form, express an interest in obtaining information about is or our products and services, when you participate in activities on the services or otherwise when you contact us.

All personal information that you provide us must be true, complete and accurate and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected

In short: some information – such as your internet protocol (IP) address and/or browser and service characteristics – is collected automatically when you visit our services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include your device and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country location, information about how and when you use our sevices, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our services, and for our internet analytics and reporting purposes.

Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.

2. How do we process your information?

In short: Any information collected by Ananta Health is considered private in accordance with the Health Disciplines Act of Alberta. Information is not shared with a third party unless written permission is given.

3. Do we use cookies and other Tracking technologies?

In short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.

We may use cookies and similar technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to gather information when you interct with our services. Some online tracking technologies help us maintain the security of our services, prevent crashes, fix bugs, save your preferences and assist with basic site functions.

We may also permit third parties and service providers to use online tracking technologies on our services for analytics and advertising, including to help manage and display advertisements, or to tailor advertisements to your interests. The third parties and service providers use their technology to provide adverting about products and services tailored to your interests which may appear either on our services or other websites.

4. Is your information transferred internationally?

In short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own.

Our servers are are located in Canada. If you are accessing our services from outside, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored adn processed by us in our facilities and by those third parties with whom we may share your personal information.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK) or Switzerland, then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice.

6. How long do we keep your information?

In short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

7. Do we Collect Information from minors?

In short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age without a parent’s consent.

We do not knowingly collect, solicit date from or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected without consent we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18 years of age please contact us.

8. What are your privacy rights?

In short: You may review, change or terminate your account at any time, depending on your country, province or state of residence.

By law we are required to hold personal medical files for five years in Accordance with the Health Disciplines Act, but you may cancel appointments, and withdraw consent for treatment at any time

However please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before it is withdrawn nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

9. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preferences not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice to not be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.

10. Do we make updates to this notice?

In short: yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Revised” date at the top of this privacy notice. If we make material changes to this privacy notice, we will notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this privacy notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information/
